An Existential Miracle

The interior and exterior worlds are the same.
It’s impossible to live in just one.
I’ve tried.
Maybe you have too.

The collision or combination of any two
often produces a reconciling third.

You and I are the colliding two,
as well as that reconciling third.

The world within us,
and the world about us
are forever transforming
to produce this life -
an existential miracle.

How to soar with the moon,
and drown with the sea?
