Ode to Mortality

No need for false humility my good man,
when you’ve got the real stuff close at hand.

What some won’t know until their death bed,
you’ve paid for dearly behind the woodshed.

And no matter what roles you choose to adopt,
keep in mind that time can never be stopped.

So allow life take from you whatever it will,
everything left behind is only landfill.

Mortality is very different when you’re 20 to when you’re 50.
Keanu Reeves
