The Answers Differ

The problem is
the answers differ
for each one of us.

We desperately want
the one-size-fits-all solution
that doesn’t exist.

If someone is thirsty or hungry,
then the fix is simple.

There’s no better place to start
than with food and water,
but that’s only the beginning.
There’s gotta be light and dark,
along with hot and cold.

Some might also say
you must go to the desert,
or one day allow the desert
to come visit you.

And within every life
are a thousand deaths.

Yes,
the answers may be different,
but the journey will forever
be the same.

Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul.
