This Breath…

My memories have flattened.
The oldest have also faded
and lost some of their color,
along with their power
to command me.

What once seemed so precious
now recedes like the tide.
Spirit rushes in to fill the vacuum.

With each breath enters the new.
And out goes what I no longer
wish to hold onto…

I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart. I am. I am. I am.
