Together We Are Light Seekers

I’ve been on the verge of tears most of my adult life.
Maybe this is why I’m drawn to the ocean.
Isn’t that where tears go?

Midlife is nothing but tedious questions.
We spend a lot of time wondering what happened,
how to fix things and whether we are alone.

Tell me, tell me, please tell me,
am I the only one thinking there’s got to be something more?

Of course there is.

Those who impress me have ventured inside their own shadows.
I happily follow them into the darkness.
Together we are light seekers.

Nothing was ever harder than burning the story
I spent my young life writing.
Now I must go to the shore to remember
how everything began.

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
