What Do I See?

Here comes the block,
a nearly invisible barrier,
I manage to place between
myself and the unknown.

It’s sometimes difficult to see,
but the block surely spots me.
And it won’t ever let me pass,
even at my command.

The block is patient.
The block is impenetrable.
The block simply is.

So what removes the block?
My surrender…

There is no worse screen to block out the Spirit than confidence in our own intelligence.
