Dance with You

Dance with You

Let the spirits lead.

Do the dead hear music?
Of course they do.
They have become the music
and the stories we share
over the course of our lives.

It's the mostly dead
who struggle to see and to hear,
to speak and to breathe.

Their hearts yearn to sing along,
but the soul-crushing weight
of living outside of any mystery
imprisons them in a world of silence.

Rest assured you will soon find
a place to touch this Earth
and to feel it touching you.

Remember to keep humming
until your toes begin to tap.
Then move your body in rhythm,
allowing the spirits to lead.

Come Fairies, take me out of this dull world,
for I would ride with you upon the wind
and dance upon the mountains like a flame!
~ William Butler Yeats
