Over and Again

Over and Again

...a bit of wisdom from Sunnen Lake.

Wet,
a little bit cold,
and a lot tired,
but already
a better man than
when I arrived.

I told myself,
before telling my wife,
I'd come home renewed
and reinvigorated
once I collected
my true self.

Then I often find
I don't have to go so far
away from my home
to gather all the pieces
of my being.

Yet for some reason,
I must make this journey
over and over again.

Life is a journey that must be traveled
no matter how bad the roads and accommodations.
~ Oliver Goldsmith
