This Sacred Space

Don't just do something, sit there.

Quit looking for God.
God is already busy
looking for you.

And quit protesting.
It doesn't matter
if you're only seeking
a safe place to hide.

I know you,
 because I am you.
I share your longing
for peace and serenity,
but know what we seek
often finds us first.

So let's call off our search,
recognizing this sacred space
is where we'll most likely find
God patiently waiting for us.
