Be Lean of Expression

Be Lean of Expression

...to strengthen your authority.

Shout into the silence
and it will eat your words.
Tear the solitude with your screams
and it well sew serenity anew.

Think back to a moment
when someone truly heard you.
Were you even speaking?

Don't offer too many words,
especially those carrying no weight.
Speak only if the spirit moves you,
and be lean of expression.

Someone wise once said,
Preach the Gospel at all times,
and use words if you must.

Music is the silence between the notes.
~ Claude Debussy
