A Real Human Being
...loves recklessly.
The best among us
are also the most suspect.
Look a bit closer at those giants
we all love to quote,
or to place on pedestals,
and have entire bookshelves
dedicated to their memory.
Good and bad,
what is it that makes someone
seem larger than life?
Why would anyone
risk something as tiny
as their own precious life?
The answer is simple.
Love is reckless
and does not come calling
in the perfect package
when we're all good and ready.
Reason has its place,
but it's not the same as love.
Love is reckless.
Love gambles away every gift God
bestows.
