A Time to Rest

A Time to Rest

...my traveling soul.

It's half-past five when
the wheels touch down.
After six hours in the air
I'm so glad to be home.

First things first,
so I pull off the highway
looking for a place to eat.

That's when I notice
the awesome pink sunset
and an eerie stillness.

While far away I forgot
winter is now upon us,
and this place I call home
now welcomes me quietly,
with an invitation to rest
my traveling soul.

In seed time learn,
in harvest teach,
in winter enjoy.
