Time is Relative

Time is Relative

...in measuring change and growth.

In a decade
a rock hardly moves,
but a child will grow
from infant to independent.

In a decade
the sun and the moon
endlessly exchange shifts
as they have for eons.

In a decade
all of my favorite songs
fade or change into anthems
of prayer and gratitude.

With each decade
time moves still faster,
as I slowly begin to realize
gold is flowing in my veins.

Adjusting to the passage of time,
I think, is a key to success and to life:
just being able to roll with the punches.
~ Dolly Parton
