Feel the Weight

Feel the Weight

It's trying to tell you something.

My soul is heavy.
I know because
I carry him with me,
day in and day out.

My heavy soul
enjoys a little levity,
springtime weather,
laughing and playing.

But my heavy soul
is also a remorseless realist,
ever reminding me life is hard
as it steers me toward my pain.

My heavy soul
never tells me to fix,
to try and control,
or to avoid.

Rather he tells me
to witness and show others,
the cure for the pain
is in the pain
.

The cure for the pain
is in the pain.
