I Need You

I Need You

...to need me.

I'm not so sure
that I always say yes,
but I rarely say no
loud enough.

This is how I end up
involved in all sorts of things,
taking on the full charge,
and feeling overwhelmed
with responsibility.

Be careful of opportunities
you didn't readily seek out,
and with goals and objectives
that come to mean more to you
than the folks who set them.

Ask yourself over and over,
What is mine to do?

Then forgive yourself
if you've done too much.

And for God's sake
stop doing whatever
makes no sense.

I don't want to take too much responsibility,
where I'm like, 'Oh, I'm representing Asia.'
