Show Up

Show Up

...and be grateful.

Please allow me
a few words of advice
collected from my own
humble experience:

Go
when and where
you're invited.

Show up
and try to meet
the expectations
of those present.

Be yourself.

Trust you are welcome
because of the gifts
you alone bring.

There's no need
to shine brighter.

There's no need
to say more.

There's no need
for a good reason.

Just go when called.

And be grateful
for the invitation.

When 'happiness' eludes us - as, eventually, it always will -
we have the invitation to examine our programmed responses
and to exercise our power to choose again.
~ Richard Rohr
