Falling Slowly

Falling Slowly

...into that deep mystery.

Every little ache and pain
is trying to tell you something.

But you won't listen to them
until you've been tripped,
and while in midair falling,
are confronted by no ground.

From that point on
I'm not sure what happens.
But falling slowly for a bit
may be a good start.

In such a porcelain life,
one likes to be sure that all is well
lest one stumble upon one's hopes
in a pile of broken crockery.
~ Emily Dickinson

Life is truly known only to those
who suffer, lose, endure adversity
and stumble from defeat to defeat.
~ Anaïs Nin
