In This Moment

What will get you through this day?
Maybe it will be the sun?
Or possibly a gentle rain falling
in sync with your heartbeat?

Me?
Taking my dog for a walk
helps me get through the day.
I watch him bounce along
first on the curb, then off again.
He’s a nervous fellow,
but is always in the present.

Watching him makes me aware
I too often pass between fond memories
and expectant projections for the future.
Rarely do I linger in this moment.

Thus I resolve to keep an eye out
for signs reading Here or Right Now.

Your entire life only happens in this moment. The present moment is life itself.
Eckhart Tolle
