Just Let it Go

I thought resistance
was the name of the game.
Then I realized how difficult it is
for me to resist the universe.

When I do slow down,
I can detect a subtle force
pushing me onward.

It should be obvious,
when the wind blows
the mountains just sit there,
happy to yield a bit of dust.

People that live to a hundred
know the secrets of the trees -
drop a few leaves and always
let the breeze go by.

We all know the status quo is rotten.
Though I’d love to keep pushing back,
everything not human says,
Just let it go.

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.
