Sharing Our Gifts

What is it I want?

Though the question persists
my answer is forever changing.

The link between my desires
and my essential being
is rooted in the affinity
life holds for itself.

I’ve come to know God
as universal creative energy
and bestower of gifts.

Thus the question of want
is shifting to become:

What is it I must offer?

God has given us two hands - one to receive with and the other to give with. We are not cisterns made for hoarding; we are channels made for sharing.
Billy Graham

This poem has been adapted and was originally shared on February 13, 2017, and was titled, A Want to Give. The original is included in Tomorrow Could Be Wonderful: Brian's Poem of the Day: 365 Daily Meditations Vol. 1.
