Spindrift

Put people first.
But first put this planet
and every living thing
upon a pedestal.

Your human gift
is a consciousness.
You're here to notice
the beauty of a sunset.

Take a moment to reflect
on the source of your love.
Then pay careful attention
to what wells up inside you.

And don't be fooled
by the broken people
falling like dominoes,
one on top of the other.

Hoarding and blood lust
won't prevent anyone
from one day reawakening
in the eternal union.

Go and sit somewhere
you can close your eyes.
Now imagine waves crashing
against the fallen rocks.

Feel the spindrift cooling your face.
Open your eyes when you've seen God.

When we quit thinking primarily about ourselves and our own self-preservation, we undergo a truly heroic transformation of consciousness.
Joseph Campbell
There is nothing holier in this life of ours than the first consciousness of love, the first fluttering of its silken wings.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
