What’s Mine To Do

I need to write a letter asking
companies to stop poisoning us
in their meaningless quest
to rid the world of dandelions.

I need to learn even more
about personal boundaries,
so I can set them with others and
abide them in my relationships.

I also need to challenge fools,
though they are seldom challenged
when hiding behind big names,
and even bigger wealth and power.

And I need to cry more easily,
like I would cry as a child,
with uncontrollable emotion
passing through me unfiltered.

I don’t want to be alone,
I want to be left alone.
