Embodied Love

Embodied Love

A toast.

Go ahead and speak love
even though it cannot be said.

Love must be lived
in countless cold mornings
waking up to the dark
with no one urging you on
or thanking you for your effort.

Love is not only ecstatic suffering,
but is also the very something
into which everything coalesces.

God does not withhold love
until you are reborn.
God exhales love
in fire, water, air and earth.

In this life may you may grow
from the mere possibility,
to the perfect embodiment of love.

Unable are the loved to die,
for love is immortality.
Emily Dickinson
