The Soup

The Soup

What's for lunch?

When all the tasks of today
seem to exceed my capacity
to ever get them done,
I will call on my breath
for the equanimity I need
to see my life through
the divine perspective of grace,
which offers me reassurance
that what must be done
will get done.

So long as there is no god
greater than my will,
and no greater than
the ideology of markets,
I will spin in the eddies
of my own boiling caldron
consumed by stress,
even though my soul
was made for serenity.

If you ask what is the
single most important key to longevity,
I would have to say it is avoiding
worry, stress and tension.
And if you didn't ask me,
I'd still have to say it.
