Become Poem

Become Poem

Lyrical living...

I can't decide
whether it's more difficult
to coax a poem out of stillness,
or to cobble one together
from all the rubble of chaos.

At some mystical point
all words hint at love
with no strings attached
and no centering object,
whether they are forged in fire
or blossom slowly
like leaves in the spring.

There must be a something
before we can create anything.
And nothing is missing,
not a thought,
feeling or experience,
that does not wish
to become poem.

A poem begins in delight
and ends in wisdom.
