Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart

Pumping blood to where it matters most.

A good day
is when I ask for no more
than the present can hold.
In so doing,
I am unmasked
as a human being,
flesh and blood,
soul and spirit,
beloved child of creation.

A polished stone
has long been treated roughly,
yet now rests smoothly and peacefully
in the palm of my hand.

No matter how hard it tries,
my potent mind
can never replace
my sacred heart.

If any thing is sacred,
the human body is sacred.
