Eyes of God

Eyes of God

...so many ways to see.

A morning rain
fell before the dawn
to the steady marching
of a million tiny feet.

I must've been dreaming
a crowd had gathered
right below my window
and were calling for me
to join them in their quest
to visit the sea.

But when I went to look
all that I could see
were the wet shadows
of buildings and trees
silhouetted by breaking light
just above the horizon.

As I turned away,
the voices grew louder:

Come with us
and see this world
through the eyes of God!

The march of conquest through wild provinces,
may be the march of Mind; but not the march of Love.
