Plainspoken Poet
Plainspoken Poet
We all know one.
I want to be
a plainspoken poet
accidentally shedding the wisdom
others have shared with me
in as few words
as possible.
I want simplicity,
the kind that comes
from experiential faith
and a practiced contentment
for all that comes my way.
I want true love
and heartfelt appreciation
for the mystery and complexity
beyond my comprehension,
yet within my clean grasp.
The lurking suspicion
that something could be simplified
is the world's richest source
of rewarding challenges.
