Back for Me

Back for Me

None are left behind.

The golden threads
glow in the lamplight
on the heavy drapes
darkening this room.

I sit in quiet repose
to summon my muse,
not wanting to disturb
my sleeping siren.

It tickles me to realize
no matter where I rest,
I will rise again before the sun
with my empty belling gurgling,
Let's devour this new day!

My waking energy is a gift
surprising me with its desire
to sow and harvest new love,
as it shows me how everything
I reach out to grasp and hold
is reaching back for me.

Love is a fruit in season at all times,
and within reach of every hand.
~ Mother Teresa
