I Need Your Help

...a communal prayer.

Let me be clear.
Let me be honest.
Let me be humble.
And let it be known
I am speaking to the person
I see in the mirror.

I need your help
to teach me community
and to affirm my belonging
in a world made alien
by alien ideas about
worthiness and belonging.

I need your care
to share my good ideas,
and along with other ideas
to help create a world
much closer to the Earth,
more life-affirming.

I also need your witness
to confirm my own humanity,
a treasure I just rediscovered
a few short years ago
on the tiny patch of ground
where I had fallen.
