Cathedral of Creation

Cathedral of Creation

You will find sanctuary in nature.

I'm sitting in a creek,
the flow of which is determined
by slab-like, tumbled rocks filled
with the bones of ancient creatures.

This is God's quarry
where stone, clay and mud
are forged and sourced to build
the Cathedral of Creation.

On either side of the creek
are the towering trees
buttressing the earthen walls
and swaying in the breeze.

Come one, come all
- now open your arms!
Know you are alive and at home
within this divine dwelling.

A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile
the moment a single man contemplates it,
bearing within him the image of a cathedral.
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
