Maybe So

Maybe So

The mantra of acceptance.

There is no alternative.
This is how it must be.

Maybe so.

We've always done it this way.
Why should we change?

Maybe so.

This is the best system.
Nothing works better.

Maybe so.

It works for me.
It ought to work for you.

Maybe so.

Give it some time.
Things will even out.

Maybe so.

I can't imagine another world.
Are there things I don't see?

Maybe so.

Basically, at the very bottom of life, which seduces us all,
there is only absurdity, and more absurdity.
And maybe that's what gives us our joy for living,
because the only thing that can defeat absurdity is lucidity.
~ Albert Camus
