Fix Everything

Fix Everything

Holding the tension with love...

This poem won't fix everything,
though the intention to fix
helps to move my pen.

A day like today,
after a difficult yesterday,
goes agonizingly slow,
in seconds and centimeters,
one deep breath to the next.

I feel sadness,
I feel regret.
I feel a bit lost,
yet can recognize
I acted with integrity,
spoke my truth,
and must now allow
for the consequences
to find me.

I can see more clearly
at a great distance.
Therefore I wait patiently,
do and say little,
even when I witness
the struggling of others,
and want to rescue them.

I have just three things to teach:
simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
