Sacred Reasons

Sacred Reasons

...are many.

My heart says,
Let's get little.
Let's talk about something
meaningful in this moment.

Yes,
I reply,
let's do this!

So last night
I had a conversation
I'll call Sacred Reasons.

My host said he quit smoking
and it wasn't at all difficult,
that he only needed a reason.

And there I sat
holding his reason,
a beautiful baby girl.

Now I can think of nothing else
than all of the sacred reasons
grounding us in our being
and calling forth our love.

The road to the sacred leads through the secular.
