Oh, great river!

Rio Grande,
great river!
Rio Grande,
great river!

You flow
downstream,
always downstream,
so easy,
easy and winding,
never worried
about picking up,
then depositing
leaf, stone, bodies.

Rio Grande,
great river!

So goes my journey,
beginning at its source
deep within my soul,
slowly winding its way
through my body,
picking up and dropping off
blood, bile, bone,
spilling out of my mouth
with the words
I love you.

 If you have a river,
then you should share it with everyone.
