Visit Me

Visit Me

I'll be here.

One day away from home
is one too many,
especially when no sense of home
exists in mind or heart.

When I was young
I scorned home bodies
and denied my own desire
to build a home.

Then I lived
as well all seem to live
in a world of movement
but no ground,
in a world of intoxication
but no wine.

Part of discovering home
has been finding my feet,
planting them in the Earth,
opening my eyes,
and allowing this world
to visit me.

You're only here for a short visit.
Don't hurry, don't worry.
And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.
