Soul Beneath

Soul Beneath

...still closer than you think.

Picture the melting snow
sliding off a rooftop.
Recall the way a blanket
when tossed off a bed
collapses in a heap.
Go to where the big balloons
land in the desert,
then watch them deflate
into a thin piece of nylon.

Maybe this world
is trying to show you
the abundant ways your ego
might melt,
might collapse,
and might deflate,
revealing your soul beneath.

May my soul bloom in love for all existence.
Rudolph Steiner
