You're Welcome

You're Welcome

Truly.

I say thank you
when I mean to say
you're quite welcome,
to ensure your gratitude
will always flow my way.

I find it difficult
to accept your thanks
for all that I do
because I know
it must be done
and that I must do it
to earn my keep,
to be worthy of your love,
to justify my life.

If I could just let go
and accept my life as a gift,
my giving and my soul
would be emancipated
from my own needs,
free to flourish in the spirit
of life and of genuine love.

When you get to a place where you understand
that love and belonging, your worthiness,
is a birthright and not something you have to earn,
anything is possible.
