With Arms Wide

With Arms Wide

...to embrace your life

I tell myself,
think rhyme not reason,
sing songs
using soulful words,
accept the past,
and with arms wide open,
embrace the life you are given.

When I sit,
it's the stillness
expanding in the present,
which reminds me serenity
exists within every atom,
and emerges by invitation
or by happy circumstance.

The child in me
never imagined this world
to be so troubled
that a good night's sleep
would not unleash
the healing power of serenity
all across the Universe.

Love... it surrounds every being
and extends slowly to embrace all that shall be.
~ Khalil Gibran
