Do Something

Do Something

...that really matters.

The sign in their yard
 says Do Something
in bold red letters against
a black background.

It seems rather angry,
so I don't plan asking
what exactly it means,
or who it's referring to.

All the same,
I know the sentiment.
There's not enough stuff
needing done that's getting done.
And there's too much doing
of utter nonsense.

It complicates matters
that some of us probably
ought to be doing less,
while allowing others
a chance to do more.

Life's most persistent and urgent question is,
What are you doing for others?
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
