An Artist's Prayer

An Artist's Prayer

...to be filled with abundance.

Please listen to my lament.
See whether these words
may open and bloom,
turning into a beautiful song.

I am tired,
oh so tired,
like a dry river
who's given all his water
to the hungry sea.

The snow will melt
and the rains will return,
but there's little I can do
to hasten them along.

Night after night I pray,
opening my heart to the stars above.
In the wind I feel the hand of God
slowly moving water this way.

Abundance is a process of letting go;
that which is empty can receive.
