Off-center

...is where we awaken.

I draw a circle on the ground,
then step inside and wait.

I delay as long as possible
before stumbling out,
unable to hold the center.

I draw a larger circle,
and then another,
before yet another.

I'm forever waking
at the edge of my being
ready to topple over,
under, through, out,
into a larger sphere.
