The Specialist
...learns through repetition.
My prayer today
is that I've learned most,
if not all of the very real,
and very sober lessons
I needed to learn.
But I don't doubt
there's much more
I'll need to know
before I go.
My list is long
of repeated mistakes,
and is well-documented
by family and friends,
by all the scars I wear,
and even a court decree.
Time is always too short
to go on lamenting the past.
So I'm trying to live for today
as I remember to keep asking,
Have I done this before?
