Perfection

Perfection

...is no trifle.

Each of us is wasting time
either seeking out perfection
or avoiding it entirely.

I've glimpsed perfection
but cannot describe for you
what I actually saw.

Someday we'll all sit awed
witness to an eternal perfection,
the glow of it warming our faces
and illuminating the shadows.

. . .

As I share this with you,
I just caught the devil
winking at me.

March on. Do not tarry.
To go forward is to move toward perfection.
March on, and fear not the thorns,
or the sharp stones on life's path.
~ Khalil Gibran

Every particular in nature,
a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time
is related to the whole, and partakes
of the perfection of the whole.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
