The Covid Cricket

The Covid Cricket

...has something to say.

It's strange times indeed.

The days and nights
both come as expected,
but my routine has changed
and I'm slowly starting to realize
how I took them for granted,
as I now struggle to accept advice
from voices I don't want to hear.

_____________

All this time,
there's been a cricket
hiding in my bedroom.

My god the chirping!

There's no way I can't ignore it
when it's chirping my name.

I cry,
Cricket go!

I cry,
Cricket stay!

I cry,
Cricket please tell me
what you're trying to say?

...either befriend all your thoughts
...or toss the rascals out.
