A Revelation
Something has happened.
Actually,
something happened to me
many years ago.
In a moment
everything changed.
All that was necessary
was my surrender.
And now once again,
something has happened.
I can feel it in my soul.
So what was it you ask?
It's hard for me to describe.
But the sound of the gavel,
which once seemed absolute,
now rings an arbitrary note.
It doesn't smack with justice,
rather the hollow thud of power.
Yet one can't simply
ask the sun why it shines,
or the ocean how deep it is.
There are no answers in revelation,
only an awakening.
“No one ever talks about the moment you found that you were white. Or the moment you found out you were black. That’s a profound revelation. The minute you find that out, something happens. You have to renegotiate everything.”
