The Green Guinness Within Us

Today is about the green,
but not the green clover
nor the green dales of Ireland.
Rather, we spend our green dollar bills
which buy us green plastic hats
as we keep the green beer flowing
for yet another day of carnival.

We live at a time in which
everything is a commodity,
and yet I refuse to be disheartened
while I tip a pint to St. Patrick,
and to all those conflicted Irish qualities
so deeply rooted within me.

Sláinte mhaith!🇮🇪

(😉until Cinco de Mayo🇲🇽)

We have always found the Irish a bit odd. They refuse to be English.
Winston Churchill
