Thy Will Be Done

I now release my need
to do everything perfectly
and all by myself.

Try as I might,
it won’t be me who saves this world.
At last I have realized,
we’re all in this together.

Together we’ve got something special.
And where there’s more than one,
there’s more than one possible outcome.

I pray daily to be released
from experiencing my life as a burden,
and to freely allow my soul
to do what’s mine to do.

So let us make plans to join forces.
There’s time enough for everything,
and what must get done will be done.

There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right, then, have it your way.’
