Tsunami of Poems

I would agree,
there are many great books of prose,
but what this epoch requires
is a tsunami of poems
delivered by common folk,
who ply their trade in humble silence,
yet whose words can absorb all the cacophony,
filtering out everything except
the pure state of being called love.

Poetry is not only dream and vision; it is the skeleton architecture of our lives. It lays the foundations for a future of change, a bridge across our fears of what has never been before.
Audre Lorde

This poem has been adapted and was originally shared on April 1, 2017, and was titled Handful of Poems. The original is included in Tomorrow Could Be Wonderful: Brian's Poem of the Day: 365 Daily Meditations Vol. 1.
