You Must Slow Down

You must slow down to see.

You must breathe deeply
to feel the space around you.

Don’t give yourself away
to the chaos you will never control.

The wind will pass by
if you do not resist it.

Watch the way water flows.
Rocks are made smooth
by the passage of time.

Allowing your heart to soften
makes a world of difference
to those around you.

Now listen for the drums calling you
to the warmth of the fire.

Bring your precious offering
to every circle you enter.

Today,
you’re on my path,
a bouquet of flowers.
